that i've been asked time and time again. I'm getting bored and irritated. I'll shoot the next person who asked me such questions again.
1. Mis, are you Malay?
Many ppl asked me to dig on my family tree, wanting to know whether i have some mixed blood somewhere in the pass. Reason being i dun sound malay and look like one. Geesh. These ppl really have nothing to do huh.
Hmmm.. Let me see, wad if i say i have a Javanese, Boyanese, Indonesian and Malay blood? Does it help??
Here's the gold. My late maternal granda is Javanese, my late maternal grandad is Boyanese which makes my mom a Boyan. Javanese and Boyanese are from Indonesia- so somewhere in the line i'm sure there's an Indonesian. My paternal grandma is Boyanese and late grandad is true blue orang Melayu so it makes my dad a MALAY! SO yar. I'm neither here nor there. Rojak. Happy now?
I'm Malay. It's written on my ID.
Juz cuz i have small sepet eyes and sounds different, doesn't mean i'm nt one. I'm proud of my race and language- tho nw i regret not taking malay language seriously. And my mom regret not taking her core language- boyan- seriously.
2. Why is your name Mis? What does that mean?
...hmm. My maternal grandad's name is Misawang. Well, he passed away few days earlier before i was born. So yar, it may sounds that i'm an omen.. but i'm still God's child. A loss of a life, a born of a new one. So there i got my MIS . Don't ask where i got my Karmalia.
So, if happen to be a teacher, will they call you Miss Mis?
The matter of fact, I wld love and might persue to teaching line in the future. And Yeah, why not? Miss Miskarmalia Binte Mohd Ariffin sounds perfectly fine. OR Miss Mis, Miss Karmalia, Miss Karma, Miss Lia, Miss Ka, Miss Ariffin.. wadeva. Sounds funny? Heck. It's my name, and it's great to be me.
